Keys and window decals
Most members will have now received a new key for the Spit gate and a window decal for their car for use while driving on the Spit. For those of you have do not yet have a new key and window decal, I have left large-size manila coloured envelopes with your names on them containing a new key and window decal in the “Membership” mail slot in the kitchen of the clubhouse. If you do not find such an envelope there with your name, please contact me directly.
It is now mandatory that you display the window decal in the front window of your car while driving on the Spit. Of course, remember also to have your four-way flashers on, keep your speed at no more than 18 kms / hour and do not drive on the Spit on weekends and statutory holidays between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm.
In order to use the decal properly, carefully peel it away from the backing paper. Take care not to take some of the paper with the decal as you peel it off. To apply the decal on the window, press the printed side on the inside of your front car window. Use the palm of your hand to press it firmly onto the window. When you take the decal off, return it onto the backing paper and keep it in the provided manila envelope. The backing paper will help maintain its ability to stick and the manila envelope will keep dust and dirt off the decal.
If you want an additional window decal for a second car, they are available at a cost of $20.
I hope everyone has a great sailing season. See you on the water,
